quilled antique keys!!!

i had made a few quilled key for this craft contest i entered. you must have seen it in the entry video that i had  posted. so i figured out id post a tutorial on how to make those, its pretty simple.
 YOU'LL NEED
quilling strips (preferably black)
slotted tool
glue
paintbrushes
black sheet( if you're using black strips)
bronze powder

HOW TO:
1.

cut out a piece of the sheet with its height the length of the key.

2. roll the piece into a tight cylinder

3. using the slotted tool make coils for the head of the key.make coils of different sizes or pairs if different coils(for a symmetrical design)

4. you can also press the coils to make different shapes, i made semicircles, tight and loose coils.

5. glue the coils to the body of the key.

6. i used the semicircles in the bottom (?) of the key.

7. now grab the glue, bronze powder and your brushes!!!

8. apply a coat of clear glue on the key

9.dab a bit of bronze powder without added medium on the brush.

10. now dust the key with the bronze powder,do not completely cover the key with the bronze powder, leave a bit of black peeking here and there.this is to give the key an ancient look.

now stand back and admire your handiwork.let your mind take over, make a key using aged book pages laying around or whatever you find interesting. these make great pendents.

i hope the tutorial was good! "do not" forget to comment and like if you enjoyed it!!!!
